The Opportunity

Hyatt seeks an enthusiastic Regional Vice President to join our North American Full-Service Development Team where you’ll join a team of Development professionals who love what they do. In this role, you will engage and collaborate closely with a broad range of external customers (Owners, Developers, Operators, consultants, Lenders, Builders, etc.) and internal (Brand, Design and Project Services, Operations, Legal, and Finance) colleagues. The Role

Development and its new-unit growth is one of the principal drivers of Hyatt’s growth and earnings. The RVP of Development is the primary contact with the hotel franchise full-service community on the East Coast. It is responsible for the future development and growth of the Full-Service brands. This position requires an understanding of the franchise development process, knowledge of hotel markets, and an ability to develop relationships and convince developers that Hyatt products are well-suited for the location and market. The Developer is the primary lead for the franchise group through the application, approval negotiation, and execution of the franchise agreement.

•Understanding of the hotel industry and franchise development

•Analysis and evaluation of hotel markets to determine the potential growth opportunities for Hyatt brands including new build and conversion opportunities

•Desire to travel extensively (75%) and engage with new and existing owners and franchisees.

•Represent Hyatt at key industry events, conferences, and tradeshows

Qualifications

Experience Required:

•5+ years of hotel franchise sales and development, hotel feasibility, hotel financial analysis, or other sales-related experience.

•Established relationships with owners, operators, consultants, management companies, lenders, builders, etc.

•Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding goals/quotas and driving business results.

•Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

•Excellent communication and presentation skills.

•Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor.

•Ability to multi-task and handle multiple relationships and deals at all times.

Experience Preferred:

•Familiarity with the Eastern US territory.

•A working knowledge of franchise agreements would be a plus.

•Demonstrated ability to work across the organization and be the liaison between development and the franchise groups is critical.
