Full Job Description

Seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and collaborative full-time Research Specialist. This position will be directly assisting with responsibilities related to several projects. One project is the AHA/Gates Ventures funded Collaboratory Project, which is a multi-site clinical trial, including collaborators at the University of Michigan, Johns Hopkins University, and Stanford University. The project includes, but is not limited to, working with research coordinators at each site to deploy a smartphone-based neurocognitive assessment tool as part of the ENGAGE-HF trial, as well as managing and aiding in analyzing data from the neurocognitive assessment collected from the trial. In addition, this role will involve assisting the PI and project lead at Boston University to make sure that the neurocognitive assessments are being deployed and administered accurately and on time for each participant in the trial, as well as to provide any technical assistance when issues or questions arise from the use of the smartphone-based neurocognitive assessments, and to run quality control checks to ensure the data is flowing properly. Another project the research assistant may work with is a prospective study related to recruiting participants from the BU Alzheimers Disease Center to use a digital technology platform.

This position involves mainly working and coordinating with research staff but may also involve interacting with older adults who may be cognitively impaired, so experience with sensitive populations and patient facing or customer care experience are beneficial. Applicants must possess a BA or BS degree in neuroscience, psychology, public health, or related social or life science field. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and a strong interest in the application of mobile and remote technology to improve and monitor cognitive health at scale are expected. Previous experience using mobile or electronic applications and devices for cognitive status or other health monitoring is strongly preferred, as well as basic familiarity and skills with data analysis. Some interactive telephone and/or e-mail communication experience is also preferred.

Skills

Bachelor's and 0-12 months experience.
