Registered Nurse - Nurse Coordinator Various Specialties
Washington DC
MUST:
Registered Nurse licensed in the District of Columbia
3+years of ambulatory setting experience (surgical environment preferred) or 2+years in a med/surg unit
Pre-Op/PACU experience with experience providing patient education
Obtaining pre-authorizations
Processing referrals
Following up with patients and providing patient education regarding pre op and post op
Strong documentation skills
Comfortable providing training to Medical Assistants on charting
Experience working in an academic setting preferred
Must have a Bachelor s in Nursing
DUTIES:
The duties of the Registered Nurse Coordinator -Surgery include but are not limited to the following:
Support patient care and clinical operations for Surgery including subspecialties
Train medical assistants on preparing charts
Implement pre-visit planning protocols for Surgery and Surgery Subspecialties clinics
Work with the Access Center Nursing team to implement triage matrix
Triage referrals
Obtain pre-authorizations
Provide pre-op patient education
Work with patients post discharge to schedule follow up appointments
Process and manage prescription refills
Assist with obtaining pre-authorizations
