Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.)
Position Summary:
A Registered EEG Technician at THINK Neurology for Kids plays a crucial role in performing diagnostic tests to evaluate neurological conditions in pediatric patients. This individual will operate specialized equipment to record the electrical activity of the brain (EEG) while ensuring patient comfort and safety. The technician will work closely with neurologists and other healthcare providers to deliver high-quality care and accurate test results. Experience working with children with autism and developmental delays is a plus but not required.

EEG Schedule
- Perform routine and ambulatory patient setups and disconnects in-office and home settings. This includes skilled knowledge of montage selection based on patient condition, proper removal of electrodes, cleaning patient/equipment, and processing documents
- Work independently to safely operate sophisticated medical equipment to record, download, review, and analyze recorded EEG and other neurodiagnostic studies
- Provide technical proficiency for basic digital EEG systems. This includes utilization of the 10-20 system of electrode placement, manual measurements, skin prep, and electrode application
- Utilize critical thinking and skill to recognize and correct artifacts accordingly; troubleshoot equipment and leads appropriately
- Exercise strong communication skills to obtain patient's medical history, offer clear explanation of procedures, and outline mutual expectations during testing
- Keep the EEG team updated with any relevant information or changes to schedule
- During idle time, check in with your clinic teammate to assist with clinical tasks
Equipment and Workspace
- Clean the equipment between every use to keep the equipment in optimal condition
- Inspect and maintain the equipment; notify the team of any irregularities
- Maintain updates on protocols or guidelines related to the handling of the equipment
- Always handle the equipment with care, avoiding unnecessary impacts or rough handling
- Secure EEG equipment in designated area when not in use and at the end of the day
- Clean workspace between each patient - no exceptions
- Dispose of any unused product taken out of containers between patients
- Deep clean room at the end of the day
- Clean computer area daily and free workspace of clutter
Testing Preparation
- Test all aspects of the EEG machine to ensure everything is operational
- Check supply inventory and notify the team if needed
- Prep the EEG area; precut any tape, gauze, and/or wrap
- Confirm EEG machine is operational, then prep the amplifier by inserting all leads
Outstanding Patient Experience
- Provide a friendly and safe environment via welcoming gestures and greetings
- Coordinate warm handoff from clinical team for EEG service
- Respond to patient requests promptly and thoroughly - in person and during phone encounters

Compensation details: 50000-70000 Yearly Salary
