What do our Regional Directors do?
The Regional Director position major responsibilities for coaching and training supervisors and ensuring that coaching and training is taking place within the districts. As part of this responsibility the position is counted upon to provide a realistic view of what’s happening in the district and what might happen particularly in those areas that impact how customers are served and coworkers are developed. The Regional Director is responsible for overall guidance of the region. The Regional Director must possess excellent and time management skills; the ability to communicate ideas and expectations in a clear manner to a diverse assembly of members; and the ability to delegate duties for increased efficiency. The Regional Director must be motivational and progressive with actions and commitments and is responsible for understanding and appreciating organizational and regional policies and expectations.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist district leadership and endorse for Home Office review (if required) key goals and objectives that fit within overall company missions, visions, and values
- Help district managers and coworkers identify strengths and weaknesses and areas of opportunities (MIOs)
- Monitor implementation and help adjust as circumstances require and through regular review help the district unit maintain focus on key objectives
- Provide input to and approve District staffing levels and help relate objectives to staffing needs
- Responsible for \"championing change\" in programs and district processes including implementation of company policies and procedures
- Gather \"ideas that work\" (best practices/benchmarks) from other districts within region, other regions, and Home Office support functions
- Help Home Office support functions create best practice models and provide proper balance between best practices and local diversity
- Play a supporting and auditing role with operations, sales, and office leadership positions
- Both monitor/assess quality of and be an active participant in the coaching of all levels of district coworkers
- Play a similar role in the goal setting, performance review, and disciplinary processes
- Serve as a resource when a district is short-handed through arranging for help from outside the district and/or stepping into a vacant position and providing short term coverage
- Serve at the level above the district for resolving customer disputes, complaints, and claims handling
- Perform quality assessments by assisting in QAI’s with district leaders for largest customers
- Responsible for providing input/review and development of company policies and programs as a member of the Senior Leadership Group
- Monitor effectiveness and quality of interaction between district and Home Office functions
- Serve as ombudsman when required
- Thorough Regional Director and Regional Sales Management functions, promote sales training, sales recognition and effective sales practices
- Play a key role in acquiring and merging new companies into existing operations or establishing new districts through “start-up” activities-Leadership - Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:
What do you need?
- High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent;
- Prefer a four-year degree from an accredited college or university or/combination of experience, education and training
- At least two years of Pesticide Control Management experience
- Strong background in management, sales, training, relationship development and/or excellent customer experience
- Progressively responsible pesticide control management experience for at least five years
- At least five to seven years District Manager or equivalent level position
- Experience analyzing financial reports, in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Experience in a multi-unit environment
- Successful background in pesticide control management in commercial and residential with direct sales experience and excellent customer service
- Supervisory skills required
- Required to meet all company Motor Vehicle Record (MVP) requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain licenses/certificates as required by federal, state and local regulations
- Must pass pre-employment background screen
- Valid driver’s license/clean driving record
