RBI All Star Coach

Twins Nike RBI Coach:
Interested individuals may be selected to serve as a Twins Nike RBI All-Star Head or Assistant Coach (baseball and/or softball) for a term of up to two years. In such case, the following job requirements are expected:

- Working knowledge and experience implementing infield, outfield, baserunning, hitting, and throwing drills.
- Ability to identify talent and create game lineups.
- Ability to develop a practice plan and effectively manage a game.
- Working knowledge of current NFHS baseball/softball rules.
- Ability to commit to entire Twins Nike RBI All-Star practice and tournament schedule (tentatively: various days June - August, which will include weekends).
- Annual adherence of Major League Baseball Youth Protection Policy.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of minors during travel or other activities.
- Experience with instruction pitching and/or catching.
- Ability to hit fungo in order to lead infield and outfield drills.
- Effectively communicate and demonstrate basic baseball instruction to youth around Twins Territory, whom may or may not have baseball experience.
- Adapt or create baseball drills based on varying degrees of experience and available equipment.
- Willing and able to travel to clinic locations across Twins Territory (cost lodging and transportation covered).
- Valid Driver's License is required.
- Must be able to complete USA Baseball Abuse Awareness Training upon hire.
- Ability to work two-hour clinic, and sometimes back-to-back clinics, outdoor or indoor as needed.
- Able to work Friday evenings, Saturday, and Sunday mornings from May to the end of August.
- Able to speak loudly to large groups of kids and adults, while communicating the values of the Minnesota Twins.
- Able to work collaboratively with other experienced instructors.
- Ability to stand, bend, jog, throw, and perform all necessary movements to effectively instruct the fundamentals of baseball or softball for duration of event.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
