Propulsion Controls Engineering has a current opening for a Quality Assurance Inspector I, with a minimum of one year ship repair experience; supporting our Aiea, Hawaii location. PCE is a full service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation.
Job Summary:
Responsible for conducting in-process and final testing and inspections ensuring compliance with technical requirements for reliability and quality conformance. Schedules, conducts, observes, records, and submits testing and inspection results for work. Also responsible for the safe conduct of in-process and final operational checkpoints which requires not only an understanding of the technical aspect of the test, but also all required safety practices, undistracted situational awareness and complete focus on the task.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
- High School or equivalent preferred.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in ship repair / shipyard related experience with good mechanical aptitude. Management may determine an applicant qualified and/or may qualify for the position if the applicant has the necessary knowledge and/or certifications to meet the requirements.
- Must possess knowledge of ship repair technical specifications and industry requirements supporting the repair of complex and critical systems and equipment.
- Must be able to effectively communicate (both verbal and written) for coordination, scheduling and completing inspections with; ships personnel, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, customers, and employees.
- Skilled use of technical measuring and diagnostic equipment. Ensures only calibrated equipment is used in the measurement and comparison of technical requirements invoked by blue prints, technical manuals, government specifications, and various equipment publications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Able to complete training / certification for CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
