McGuireWoods LLP has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Richmond, VA office. The Project Manager, Information Technology is the primary facilitator for IT projects responsible for planning, execution and delivery of project-based firm technology initiatives.

Responsibilities:- Manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple and/or large scale critical projects.
- Manage IT projects from initiation to closeout, including business case development, project planning, design, implementation and after-action reviews.
- Facilitate the development and ongoing management of comprehensive project planning documents and the project schedule.
- Facilitate change management activities relating to project cost, scope, quality and schedule.
- Facilitate project team estimates, estimation of delivery dates of project tasks, milestones and overall project completion based on system requirements and available department resources
- Assist procurement with vendor negotiations including Request for Proposals (RFPs) Statements of Work (SOW).
- Be prepared to recommend best pricing method and validate cost estimates for the project.
- Present regular status updates and review risk mitigations and issues with executive leadership
- Coordinate project tasks with project teams and all involved parties, including vendors.
- Ensure that project teams routinely assess project risks and create/execute risk response plans.
- Manage project budget, ensure accurate invoicing, and monitor expenditures for projects.
- Maintain and ensure availability of IT project tracking environment.
- Identify areas for improvement in existing project management methodology as well as other IT process areas, where appropriate.
- College degree or relative work experience.
- Requires 8+ years of project management experience.
- Experience with MS Project or other related project tools a must.
- Documentation experience a must.
- Experience with WorkFront project management software a plus.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under high pressure with tight schedules and deadlines.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to see problems in larger organizational context.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and patience working with others.
- Capable of grasping new concepts without prior experience.
- Understanding of common project management methodologies, i.e. PMI's PMBok, Critical Path Management, Agile Project Management, SCRUM.
- PMP Certification preferred.
