DLR Group's Texas team has an opening for a Project Architect in our Justice+Civic sector. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home. Considering this model, this role could be based in the following cities:

As a nationally recognized expert in Justice+Civic facility planning and design, DLR Group serves municipal, county, state, and federal public-sector clients to deliver civic, public safety, and justice design solutions that achieve excellence in operations, sustainable design, resilience planning, space planning, building assessment, cost of ownership analysis, and project management. Position Summary

As a Project Architect at DLR Group you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project document development and coordinating with all project team members to maintain the quality of the work product within the established project schedule for Justice+Civic projects. As part of our integrated design teams, you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

You will be responsible for producing profitable and executable designs, with assistance from the Project Manager and Regional Sector Leader. As an integrated design team member, you will assist with all aspects of the project design and document development and coordinating with all project team members to produce quality design work product while adhering to project schedules and budgets.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and the ability to coordinate and lead the design disciplines in developing technical solutions.
  • Mentor other design team members.
  • Bring extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional practice from schematic design through project close-out.
  • Work and present ideas in a team environment as well as self-manage and self-motivate in a creative workplace
  • Possess a high-level of technical proficiency in drawing production.
  • Lead the project team in the adherence to all practice standards.
  • Supervise the design and technical development of the project.
  • Work directly with project managers and designers in the conceptual development of project documents.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture
  • 5+ years of experience designing Public Sector, Institutional, Civic, Public Safety, and/or Justice buildings
  • Proficient in the use of Revit and other 3D computer modeling and rendering software
  • The ability to travel occasionally to support national and/or regional project tasks
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, and/or V-Ray
  • Experience and interest in sustainable building design
