Fusion Pharmaceuticals, a member of the AstraZeneca Group, is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing next-generation radioconjugates (RCs) as precision medicines.  Fusion connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to various targeting molecules to selectively deliver the alpha emitting payloads to tumors.   Fusion’s clinical portfolio includes:   FPI-2265 targeting prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer currently in a Phase 2 trial;  FPI-1434 targeting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor currently in a Phase 1 trial;  FPI-2059, a small molecule targeting neurotensin receptor 1 (NTSR1), currently in a Phase 1 trial; and FPI-2068, a bispecific IgG-based EGFR-cMET targeted radioconjugate currently in a Phase 1 trial.  In addition, Fusion is pursuing combination programs between RCs and DNA Damage Response Inhibitors (DDRis) and immune-oncology agents. Fusion has a fully operational Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility to meet supply demand for Fusion's growing pipeline of RCs.  

Summary

Fusion is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager/Senior Program Manager with strong project management and analytical skills to support our expanding discovery programs and ongoing Phase 1 clinical programs. The ideal candidate will have experience with both discovery and early clinical development phases. This individual will work closely with the Global Program Leader(s) and Functional Leadership to manage cross-functional teams, create plans, track progress and integrate new programs within the portfolio.  This position reports to the Global Program Lead. 

This is an exciting interdisciplinary role for a qualified and highly motivated individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining complex program plans that include scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, key Go/No-Go decision points, resources and budgets. 
  • Managing multiple cross-functional teams and meetings including scheduling, agendas, minutes, and actions.
  • Ensuring effective and timely communication to team members and senior leadership regarding program status, key milestones, identified risks and resource allocation. Includes generating monthly program reports/dashboards. 
  • Preparing summary information on the progress of the program against goals and milestones, timeline updates, etc.  for periodic presentations.
  • Assisting with identification of strategic or operational issues impacting plan execution and working with the team to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Supporting the development and application of Project Management tools, templates, and best practices. 

Requirements:

  • MSc or BSc Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology drug development with at least 2 years in a project/program management role.
  • Experience with both discovery and early clinical development phases is preferred.
  • Experience in advancing oncology drug candidate from preclinical through Phase 1 clinical trials.  
  • Expertise in project management and supporting cross-functional teams with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet or similar).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extremely well-organized with the ability to manage multiple programs with highly detailed workflows.
  • Self-motivated with expertise in both planning and implementation. 
  • Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic environment with a sense of urgency and aggressive timelines.
