POSITION: Production Trimmer
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
WAGE: $19.00 to Start
As a part of the Production team, a keen sense of observation and attention to details are key to being successful in the Trimming position. The essence of this role is to ensure quality plastic rotational molded parts through finishing techniques, such as trimming excess plastic material.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Trim and deburr excess material on products and finish plastic parts using a variety of hand tools to finish edges, drill holes, etc.
- Ability to identify quality problems and escalate appropriately.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to follow detailed instructions and work from documented standard procedures.
- Perform in process inspection and remove defective parts while ensuring quality parts are clean and trimmed correctly.
- Notify supervisor of defects to address problems so leadership can find solutions.
- Ensure completed product moves to the appropriate area for final inspection.
- Clean the trimming workstations and area around machine and dispose of waste at the end of each shift.
- Document work performed.
- Resolve routine questions and problems and refer more complex issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Willing to perform other tasks as needed and pertaining to the Production Trimmer position.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Reliable transportation and daily attendance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills and ability to work self-directed.
- Sense of urgency with an attention to detail and safety
- Comfort with operating in a challenging, fast paced environment.
- Able to lift 25lbs and pull 50lbs as required.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
- Comfortable wearing the required PPE.
- Ability to work tactfully and courteously with fellow employees.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- One or more years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL NEEDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Standing: Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Lifting/Carrying/Pushing: Lifting/carrying parts, material, and product of 30–70 pounds on a regular basis.
- Hand Tasks: Grasping, pinching reaching, handling, fingering, picking, or otherwise working with fingers and use of hand and arm tasks.
- Climate: Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 60 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment: Must wear all required PPE including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and gloves.
