Full Job Description

The DSO organization collects and delivers FactSet's data to clients via various feed delivery platforms. The Product Specialist team focuses on product operations for the various feed products. Each team member works closely with the Product Management team and Engineering teams to design, build, test, document and release our products.

This person will be responsible for gaining comprehensive knowledge of their products and promoting them internally and externally. They will contribute to our operational and strategic plans, working alongside Product Managers to manage the roadmap and direction of the team and product line. The Product Specialist focuses on optimizing the end-user experience of a product by understanding user pain points, identifying and communicating the top issues to internal stakeholders, and providing recommendations backed by data for how to address the top support issues and improve the user experience.

This Product Specialists will build an understanding of our end-users, competitors and the specific challenges and needs the product intends to address. They will build empathy for users by understanding personas and their needs and they advocate for the importance of usable, high-quality products that enable our clients to do their best work.

The Product Specialist will develop expertise in this product line by providing the second level of support after support desk escalation. They will focus on timely resolution and proper escalation to engineering. They may also help more experienced teammates measure and optimize the user experience by identifying and communicating the top support issues, and providing recommendations backed by data for how to address them to improve the user experience. They support the Product Management team at all stages, including discovery, solutioning, launch and monitoring, in addition to execution.

Development Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing product features, and understanding associated client workflows, end users, and competitors
  • Responsible for interfacing with internal stakeholders and external clients to understand user requirements and desired outcomes, and gather and measure feedback to determine enhancements that deliver value to clients
  • Support resolution of RPDs and Issue Trackers and develop collateral to train and educate users, sales, implementation, support and content to ensure high quality support
  • Motivate and empower the sales team via sales enablement activities
  • Utilize subject matter expertise to help drive solution creation and adoption across our client base
  • Partner with sales and client service to help maintain existing business

Job Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of relevant product experience
  • Attention to detail to ensure high quality products
  • Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm, strong sense of initiative, and a desire to take ownership of project work in an iterative development environment
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to run effective meetings internally and with clients
  • Understanding of Product Development best practices, including Agile development, SDLC, User Stories and Acceptance criteria, and product release best practices
  • Big-picture, critical thinker who is capable of taking a creative or clever approach to problem-solving
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future

Desired Attributes:

  • Interest in learning new technologies and how multiple systems work together
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members in other offices
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with shifting priorities
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with stakeholder communication and messaging
  • Experience using JIRA or other agile development tools
  • Experience using collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Previous experience and knowledge of APIs and/or Python

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM, Finance, economics or other relevant field.

The budgeted amount range for this position in the states of Connecticut and New York is $72,000-$90,000.
