Principal Security Operations Analyst
JOB SUMMARY
The Principal, Architecture (Network & Security), is a senior technical leader responsible for driving the design and implementation of architectural solutions across the Syneos-managed environment. Areas of responsibility include perimeter, cloud, branch office and remote user networking and security. This role requires deep technical expertise and a strategic mindset to influence the organization's architectural direction. The Principal collaborates with various stakeholders, such as Cloud Infrastructure, Workstation Engineering, Application Engineering, Service Management, Enterprise Architecture and Office of the CISO, to ensure that architectural solutions meet business objectives and are scalable, secure, and efficient. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee a program of initiatives and be accountable for delivery on budget and schedule.
- Lead requirements gathering and definition of architectural standards.
- Create technical designs and specifications from requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering and operational teams for analysis, planning, testing and deployment of solutions.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies and methodologies into architecture standards.
- Lead the design and development of solutions architecture or enterprise-level architectural frameworks.
- Collaborate with business leaders to ensure that architecture aligns with business goals.
- Ensure complete handover of business-as-usual support responsibilities to operational teams.
- Create, maintain and socialize architecture and design documentation with stakeholders.
- Drive technical innovation and promote best practices across the organization.
- Mentor senior architects and provide expertise on complex technical challenges.
- Continuously refine and improve architecture processes and standards.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (please indicate if 'preferred')
- Expertise in and experience with deploying and managing the following or comparable technology vendors/products: Azure, OCI and AWS Cloud Networking, Fortigate, SD-WAN, Aviatrix, Cisco Meraki, Zscaler Internet Access, Zscaler Private Access, Azure SSO Proxy, Azure App Gateway, Infoblox.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in enterprise architecture and system design.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale architectural initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Years of experience required: Eight (8) years of related experience.
Physical Requirements: Position requires: ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office equipment, etc. and to move between office locations; ability to maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods of time; ability to occasionally manipulate (e.g., lift, carry, move) office items and packages of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment (e.g., scanner, phone, printer, copier); ability to perceive and assess written materials for prolonged periods of time; and ability to frequently communicate with colleagues on the phone, by email, and in-person.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is low. This is a largely sedentary role.
