Responsibilities*

  • Specialty scheduling for Speech Language Pathology & Audiology clinic using the MiChart Epic system.
  • Manage and triage referral workque for SLP & Audiology clinic.
  • Working closely with Faculty for coordinating appointments.
  • Scrub Audiologist and SLP scheduled appointments ensuring proper codes are entered for authorization. 
  • Verifying orders are linked to SLP/Audiology appointments.  
  • Contacting patients for scheduling or rescheduling of appointments.  
  • Administrative duties consisting of faxing, specialty supply ordering specific to SLP and Audiology. 
  • Back up coverage for Check in/Check Out along with Facial Nerve/TAB scheduling as needed.  

Required Qualifications*

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-4 years of experience
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
  • Prior experience performing complex scheduling.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary clinical setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent attendance.
  • Expected to be proficient in identifying problems, seeking, and implementing solutions.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience working within a large, complex healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies.
  • Familiarity with obtaining medical records.
  • MiChart/Epic system experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
