The clinical laboratory assistant primary responsibility is the cleaning, disinfection and set up of equipment. Secondary responsibility is to assist the supervisor with daily projects as assigned.

Responsibilities*
This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining patient equipment, following proper HLD procedures, and preparing the patient rooms for patients on a daily basis. The Patient Care Tech Assistant also helps to maintain and track inventory.
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma with basic science course work or an equivalent combination of education is necessary.
- Certification in basic cardiac life support is required upon hire.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
