Currently, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Billing Coder. As a Billing Coder, you will be responsible for gathering charge/payment information, entering accurate information into the database, and distributing billing information appropriately.
General job duties:
- Researches all information needed to complete billing process including getting charge information from providers
- Keys charge and payment information into EHR
- Processes and distributes copies of billings according to clinic policies
- Assists with all error resolutions
- Researching and appealing denied claims
- Assists with all delinquent claims
- Checking eligibility and benefits verification
- Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing
- Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances
- Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Assists with answering telephone and provides information as requested
- Participates in educational activities
- Maintains strict confidentiality
- Maintains Certification/CEU's (if applicable)
- Be a positive role model for all health center staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Fingerprint
- OIG/SAMS exclusion list
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Certified Professional Coder preferred.
