Overview

As part of BJC HealthCare, Parkland Health Center offers a unique combination of world-class medicine along with the deep local roots and rich history of its three predecessors – Bonne Terre Hospital (opened in 1911), Mineral Area Regional Medical Center (1952), and Farmington Community Hospital (1969). Parkland Health Center has two locations in St. Francois County, Missouri – a full-service acute care hospital in Farmington as well as a rural emergency hospital in Bonne Terre. Parkland Health Center provides quality primary and secondary level inpatient and outpatient services to the people of St. Francois County and surrounding areas in southeastern Missouri.

In addition, Parkland’s Farmington campus offers a full continuum of inpatient and medical-surgical and intensive care, obstetrics, geriatric psychiatry and emergency services, along with a wide variety of outpatient services including oncology services, an infusion center, a wound care clinic, and the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center.  Bonne Terre is a Rural Emergency Hospital providing emergency services and outpatient services including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep study.

The Maintenance Department provides support for maintaining the various buildings included in the PHC campus.


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Guides the strategic investment planning for BHC and directs the design and construction for capital projects in support of the strategic plan.  Additionally, responsible for planning, coordinating and managing of the Facility operations and functions of the Hospital related to high pressure steam plant, the mechanical/electrical infrastructure systems, the buildings, grounds and construction.  Oversees all the design for the PDC projects, all operations relating to Facilities Management which includes the, Power Plant, Maintenance, Facilities, and Planning Design and Construction Management.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.  Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets.  Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Oversees capital projects design activities by managing teams of architects, engineers, and other design professionals.  Directs and coordinates the activities of capital projects associated with the infrastructure, buildings, and campus.
  • Responsible for maintaining an optimal environment for patients and staff.  Responsible for physical environment to meet regulatory requirements, while working to identify opportunities to reduce operational cost in efforts to better support patient care.
  • Provides consultation services to Director Support Services, VP Operations, Leadership, and staff in regards to Facility and Maintenance in accordance with the strategic plan and Facility Master plan.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree-Engineering/related

Experience

  • 2-5 years

Supervisor Experience
