We currently have per diem Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant position supporting Urgent Care in our Pediatrics department at our Somerville, Burlington, Braintree and practices. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will work collaboratively on a team to provide direct clinical care within an ambulatory, pediatrics practice to deliver comprehensive care and must possess the ability to assess clinical problems, determine priorities of care, design and implement a treatment plan and seek and utilize consultation appropriately. Clinical care includes pediatric primary care. We offer superior staffing resources and a fully integrated EMR system. Urgent Care hours are evenings and weekends. Weekend availability and some holidays are required for per diem position.
Education: Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Must be nationally certified as an FNP, PPCNP, or CPNP, graduate from an accredited master's degree NP program and possess state licensure to practice as an APRN. Current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Physician Assistant (PA) - Must have national certification and Commonwealth of Massachusetts licensure as a Physician Assistant. NP/PA – Must possess and maintain, or be eligible for, Mass DPH Controlled Substance registration and DEA registration.
Skills and Experience: Minimum of two years of pediatric ambulatory care experience preferred.
Must exhibit strong critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and good patient interviewing skills. Highly motivated and self-directed. Ability to interpret clinical information, assess the implication of treatment and develop and implement a plan of care. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a rapidly changing environment with multiple demands. Up to date with current standard of nursing care in Specialty. Demonstrated excellence in practice, documentation and utilization. Maintain high patient satisfaction. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong computer skills.
