The Mental Health Consultant offers support, assessment, intervention, and consultation within the Lake County Adult Detention Facility. This position is responsible for individual and group services as well as crisis intervention and collaboration with corrections staff and coordinate. This licensed provider will engage as a member of a collaborative team. With a Trauma Informed approach, this position will be a representative for the organization and how we offer integrated services for recovery and mental health.
More specifically, this position will:
- Provide trauma informed services to clients and their family system in a correctional setting including Lake County Adult Detention Facility, including individual, group.
- Provide crisis intervention and coordinate Pharmacological management services for those incarcerated.
- Provide consultation to correctional staff and other criminal justice professionals. Deliver positive results as evidenced by utilization of outcome measures.
- Provide accurate, concise, and concurrent documentation according to program procedures and policies. Including, but not limited to data collection and annual jail report.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in the mental health field from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of experience in mental health and corrections
- Must be LSW or LPC licensed by the State of Ohio.
- Excellent communication skills - particularly verbal and written communication.
- Must have valid driver's license (4 points or less) and carry minimum auto liability insurance of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000
