The Meeting Connections Manager is an entry-level sales department job in the hotel with a performance quota. These individuals handle special accounts or a specific role and carry an account base or a quota. Typically handle less complex accounts. Develops new leads and researches new business potential within an assigned market. Makes direct calls to potential clients and manages internet-based lead websites. This position is responsible for booking short-term meetings for the hotel and is fast-paced. Communication and organization skills are of the utmost importance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for growing new group and events revenues in all segments including but not limited to SMERF, Association, and Corporate. Small group bookings with and without events. Bookings will have a maximum of 40 room nights on peak. (this number may be adjusted as the needs of the hotel change)
  • Prepare and present effective proposals, maintain well-organized documentation and reports, utilize Hyatt systems, and to coordinates customer service requirements as appropriate.
  • Conduct sales presentations, site inspections, prospecting, sales calls, client entertainment and business travel as key sales activities.
  • Grow and maintain business relationships with existing clients and cultivate and develop new business relationships.
  • Communicating client requirements in a timely and accurate manner to all internal departments as required, ensuring delivery of superior guest service.
  • Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Participating in both local and out of town industry events, trade shows, conventions, and promotional events to identify new opportunities to grow business revenue.

Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training program or equivalent training.
  • Prefer 1-2 years previous hotel experience.
