Land Engineering Field Resource Specialist
** This is a hybrid work position reporting in office 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA a minimum of FOUR (4) days per week and/or as additionally required.
Travel needed is approximately 25% of the time.

JOB SUMMARY
The Resource Specialist is responsible for scheduling Land Engineering field survey activities and managing equipment resources. Responsibilities will include creating and organizing schedules to meet project priorities. The Resources Specialist collaborates and communicates with Land Engineering Coordinators and Construction Services to facilitate scheduling and timely project completion. The Field Resource Specialist will also manage the offsite warehouse under the supervision of the Team Leader and procure equipment as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High school diploma required (vocational / technical education, a plus).
- A bachelor’s degree in Surveying and Mapping, Geomatics, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related degree, a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of land surveying practices and procedures.
- Working knowledge of construction processes related to transmission lines, distribution lines and substations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the level of effort and durations required to complete various land surveying activities across different parts of the state.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.
- Ability to be decisive in periods of time constraints and resource limitations.
- Ability to manage schedules of surveying activities for multiple company and contract survey crews.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess strong teamwork skills and a customer focused attitude.
- Knowledgeable of applicable safety rules and regulations – Safety First.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the scheduling and work assignment of all field survey personnel, both GPC and contract personnel for numerous survey jobs occurring concurrently.
- Collaboration and coordination with Land Engineering Team Leader, Coordinators and Survey Specialists to facilitate survey requests are completed in a timely manner and adhere to project schedules.
- Arranges construction support activities. Serves as the primary point of contact for construction flagging and staking, responsible for requesting and receiving construction staking files and preparing for the survey crews to facilitate all assigned survey jobs meet the committed schedules. Track project status and communicate schedule exceptions to the team.
- Maintain an accurate field equipment inventory and facilitate purchases in a timely basis.

This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
- Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).
- Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
