Responsibilities:
- Assist Junior School Instructors with classroom set up and clean up
- During class, assist Instructor with distributing supplies, collecting completed work, assisting students who need special help with projects and remain alert to the needs of the instructor and the students
- During the summer, additional responsibilities include assisting staff in supervising students in the lunch room and at carpool, as well as escorting young students from classrooms to the lunch room, restrooms and carpool.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
General Classroom
- Able to follow verbal instruction and enjoy a variety of duties
- Must be punctual, reliable and able to remain active for long periods of time
- Patience and a calm demeanor are required
- Familiarity with art materials and processes a plus
Fashion Design
- In addition to General Classroom abilities, must be able to use a sewing machine and demonstrate this skill to others
- Knowledge of hand sewing is also required
Ceramics
- In addition to General Classroom abilities, must be familiar with hand building processes and glazes
- Must be willing to learn the correct way to load (but not fire) a kiln
Education and Experience:
- High school students who are at least 15 years of age may apply
- Current Junior School student status or one year of baby-sitting experience preferred
