The Human Resources team provides consultation partnerships for employees and managers activities related to staffing, performance, professional development, benefits, compensation and employee and labor relations. HR leads the Peabody Essex Museum to demonstrate the behaviors in a human-centered environment that requires employees to listen, understand, respond to and create dialogue in addressing needs, support opportunities for growth, and streamline processes for efficiency. As the HR Coordinator, you will administer a variety of activities related to benefits, vendor payments, and administrative tasks. You will need to stay informed of trends and changes in benefit offerings, managing system workflows and technical procedures for reports and data auditing, as well as overseeing the maintenance for our HRIS system. Key factors of this role will be to administer and process employment and benefit transactions while ensuring data accuracy of new hires, transfers, promotions, and other related activities in alignment with federal, state, museum policies, procedures, and practices. This role will also actively be involved in organizing staff events, including monthly all staff meetings, benefit fairs, all staff parties, and coodinating/scheduling trainings. On a day to day basis, this role requires a very careful adherence to well-defined work where repeatable results are needed. The work is highly precise in nature and requires strong attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a Human Resources environment; or 3 years of experience and educational training such as certifications; or a Bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience in a relevant field along with knowledge of benefits, payroll, and experience within a HRIS system. The candidate will also maintain a high degree of confidentiality, patience, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, good humor and fortitude in managing relationships with diverse audiences, including other departments, and external partners. You will demonstrate the ability to forge mutually-respectful and effective relationships with a diverse group of personalities. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and other web-hosted services coupled with exemplary interpersonal, oral and written skills. This position is a full time hourly role and the hiring range is $25.13 to $29.15 per hour commensurate with experience.
