Hybrid Position:
This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.
About the Job
SUMMARY
This position provides a broad scope of services by efficiently and accurately answering HR questions to internal and external parties, processing a high volume of transactions, and resolving concerns or questions, which include but are not limited to our field application tracking system, I-9, benefits and enrollment, 401k, and payroll concerns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Initial point of contact for phone calls from our associates and external applicants. Provided timely customer service and advice, which included researching and resolving issues around the applicant tracking system, benefit plans and eligibility issues, and other general HR questions.
- Performs administrative tasks, such as responding to the HR Shared Services email box and other general HR work.
- Maintains all employee records, including responding to employee requests, scanning, uploading, and auditing documents. Works with records vendor for off-site storage needs.
- Other projects as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma and two (2) years of customer service experience, or equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants that have prior HR or customer service experience.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening
- Must demonstrate the ability to articulate effectively.
- Must demonstrate extreme patience and confidentiality when handling client requests, questions and/or concerns.
- Must demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Able to multitasks through multiple systems to get information and complete tasks.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Able to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages and appropriate analysis of various payments/contributions.
COMPLEXITY AND PROBLEM-SOLVING
Able to think critically and exercise independent judgment and problem-solving required to provide responses correctly and for plan interpretation and design.
MAJOR CHALLENGES
Dealing with fast-paced, sensitive, confidential, and urgent issues. Working to resolve issues within the confines of the law. Processing a high volume of calls and emails
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment are characteristic of those found in a typical business office environment. This position requires frequent movement around campus buildings and the ability to regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
This is an office-based role. Physical presence at the Phoenix Home Office is required. Hybrid options may be available when training is complete, but weekly in-office work is required.
