Performs housekeeping services for adolescents, children adults, and geriatric patients. Assists in the overall facility cleaning to ensure that residents are provided with an uncluttered and orderly environment.Job DutiesPerforms basic tasks according to highly specific departmental policies and procedures in order to maintain an aseptic, clean, and attractive environment for the hospital.Spot cleans walls, windows, furniture, and carpets.Disinfects sinks, tubs, mirrors, toilets, urinals using proper disinfecting techniques.Maintains adequate supply of soap, towels, toilet tissue, and other necessary items.Makes beds; sorts and distributes linens.Cleans and sanitizes all horizontal and lateral surfaces throughout the facility.Offers suggestions to improve work methods or procedures and participates in the quality improvement process.Utilizes cleaning chemicals properly and safely in accordance with department guidelines.Keeps housekeeping carts and vacuums clean and in good working order.Reports repairs or the need for replacements and follows up to ensure that the repairs meet facility standards.Minimum QualificationsLess than 1 year Ability to understand and follow instructions. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
