Summary:
Community Health is hiring a Health Educator to join their team. The Health Educator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs. They will provide consultation, education, and training to health care providers, patients, and their families, and health service agencies. The role also involves the analysis and interpretation of data to prepare reports and present recommendations, as well as the design, editing, and publishing of health education materials and the promotion of collaborations between health care agencies. The ideal candidate has knowledge of cultural competency in healthcare and experience in addressing social drivers of health.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze and interpret data, prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends or conclusions. Maintain accurate records reflecting work activities
2. Design, edit and publish health education materials. Develop/ modify additional material as needed. Set priorities for production and purchase of educational materials. Evaluate materials and disseminate recommendations to service providers and consumers. Develop satellite programs for distribution of education services. Manage development and dissemination of web-based resources
3. Develop, implement and evaluate education programs. Conduct needs-assessments to identify health care problems, develop program objectives and determine courses of action. Coordinate implementation of programs and evaluate results
4. Promote collaborations among health agencies and organizations. Serve as liaison to organizations and implement educational initiatives. Coordinate and participate in marketing and public relations activities. Participate in public speaking engagements and community health events. Serve on special committees and coordinate committee activities.
5. Provide consultation, education and training to health care providers, patients and their families, health service agencies and consumer organizations regarding health education and information services. Work one-on-one and in groups with patients and their families and staff to provide education information service and counseling concerning health education

Education Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Public Health or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If a Bachelor’s degree: Three (3) years of relevant experience.
● If an Associate’s degree: Seven (7) years of relevant experience.
● If a High School diploma or GED: Eleven (11) years of relevant experience.
