The Opportunity
As the functional lead for Supply Chain at the site you are accountable for definition and execution of all activities required to ensure timely service to our customers. Reporting to the VP Supply Chain, you will be responsible for planning of site operations, inventory management, warehouse management, placing orders for direct materials, pandemic readiness and the detailed and rigorous preparation of campaigns.
You will be an important senior member of the Site Leadership Team, contributing to site performance, culture, safety and quality. As an essential member of the global Supply Chain Leadership Team the role holder contributes to overall supply chain strategy and aligns site operations through S&OP and the individual product strategies.
The role partners across global and local team members to align with global processes and standards, ensuring delivery to customer expectations.
The role includes ownership for assigned products/brands, representing Operations at cross functional forums, ensuring agreement between planned future commercial and development activities and Supply Chain operational strategies
The Role
Planning
- Working with Global Planners and Supply Chain Operations teams you will lead the site delivery of seasonal and pandemic campaigns. You will develop and direct the site Planning function ensuring robustness in the plan and that all manufacturing/procurement plans meet customer contract requirements whilst supporting the Seqirus goals.
- Responsible for all site capacity planning models and ensuring that appropriate and accurate information is incorporated into global strategic plans; you will analyze, develop, and implement long-term planning strategies with the network strategy, collaborating with teams inside and outside the organization.
- Drive and facilitate the Site Sales and Operations Planning process, generating data and with key responsibility for supporting S&OP meetings and processes. Work with Global Planning & Commercial to understand and interpret forecasts and global operational plans and defines and manages site processes to deliver required outcomes, including optimum inventory levels, to support product manufacture and pandemic readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement of supply chain planning processes and manages deployment of new processes and applications.
- Ensure decisions are escalated with accurate financial analysis to support decision-making. This includes manufacture of non-commercial materials (eg clinical trials, technology transfers)
Campaign Readiness and Execution
- Lead the annual strain update and approval processes for all markets and products for the site owned influenza products, ensuring all ASU activities are performed following the Playbook approach across all departments.
- You will direct the execution of the campaign including batch release to ensure supply according to the lock plan. Ensure all site teams are involved and governed to ensure campaign success.
- As part of the focus on continuous improvement you will drive the pre and post campaign review processes to challenge assumptions, work with other Seqirus sites to share learnings and drive faster ASU approval and release timings.
Inventory and material Management
- Ensure inventory integrity and management across the assigned elements of the Seqirus supply chain network (including site manufacturing and assigned outsourced manufacturing operations) to maximize margin opportunities in line with Seqirus risk framework and to minimize write offs. This role ensures all materials and components are ordered and available on time to safeguard uninterpreted supply
- Accountable for the value of inventory held and the management processes which ensure full GMP and Financial compliance.
- As Site interface for Global Procurement ensures Site requirements for materials, goods and services, and product initiatives are prioritized, providing feedback and input to supplier relationships.
Data integrity and Process optimization
- Lead the data management process for SAP at a site level, ensuring that data maintenance and governance is applied in line with global standards.
- Ensuring the Site Supply Chain and all other Site functions provides current and accurate data for all ERP system (and its' associated sub-systems e.g. SAP BW.) as required by agreed global and site data management processes.
- Partner with peers to lead the development and implementation of supply chain business processes and operational systems focused on increasing operational effectiveness and cost efficiency at the site and across the supply chain function.
- Work across all sites to achieve standardization and optimization and aligns with other Supply Chain leaders to ensure high levels of quality and compliance across the supply chain and related IT systems as measured by quality and financial audits. Own the control systems for inventory at the site.
Warehouse
- Through the Warehouse Manager, lead and motivate the Warehouse Team to achieve the plans, schedule targets and internal and external customer requirements. Assure inventory accuracy. To control and manage all warehouse activities in accordance with cGMP, housekeeping, Health and Safety requirements.
- Maintain warehouse KPIs and team sizes to optimize performance, safety and cost.
- Partner with Global Logistics to ensure the timely supply of product to meet export and domestic market requirements.
Pandemic Readiness
- Ensure the organization can supply in the event of a pandemic in alignment with Advanced Purchase Agreements (APAs); this includes maintaining stock of materials, financial accountability and ensuring all functions at the site are ready in the event of a pandemic.
- Partner with Global Planning to deliver robust plans as part of the Pandemic S&OP process,
- Partner with procurement on vendor agreements, to have a material strategy to minimize write offs of material stock.
Product Ownership
- A contributing member of the Core Program Team with responsibility is to represent Global Supply Chain in the development strategy and execution plan for the full lifecycle of a product. The accountabilities include:
- Review target product profiles and identify gaps in licensed supply capabilities
- Assess changes and impact to network strategy and locked supply plan of proposed initiatives
- Ensure SAP Master Data updated to ensure approved initiatives
- Identify the global supply chain plan (e.g. which SoM to be used for each existing market each season and for the initial registration of proposed new markets
- Publish quarterly outlook for assigned products to SCLT and OLT
Your skills and experience
- Bachelor's Degree in business, or technical field relevant to Seqirus' products;
- 10 years relevant experience including 4+ years at leadership level.
- Extensive understanding of supply chain operations from source to end item delivery
- Preferrable understanding of the influenza supply chain processes including regulatory & quality elements, including Annual Strain Update (ASU)
- Experienced in successfully operating in a matrix environment.
- Interdisciplinary experience across production, planning, logistics and purchasing
- ERP system Knowledge is essential with a preference for SAP software.
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated in previous roles
