Position Summary

The FSQR Intern will play a vital role in supporting our Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory team. This hands-on experience offers a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge in quality assurance processes, regulatory compliance, and product testing for the pet food ingredient industry. You’ll work alongside our talented team to ensure that our products meet the highest standards for safety and quality.
A strong candidate will have…
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with laboratory practices and equipment is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Passion for the pet food industry and interest in FSQR.
You’ll make a difference through…
- Assisting in conducting quality control tests on raw materials and finished products, including physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses.
- Supporting the development and validation of testing protocols for new ingredients.
- Participating in the review and documentation of food safety programs, including HACCP, GMP, and FSMA compliance.
- Analyzing data and providing insights to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Collaborating with the FSQR team on projects to improve processes, reduce risks, and enhance quality.
- Assisting in managing ingredient specifications and supplier certifications.
- Participating in plant audits and contributing to corrective action plans as needed.
Working conditions…
- Primarily based in a manufacturing environment, balancing on-the-floor presence with office work.
- Potential travel up to 5%.

Qualifications…
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Food Science, Grain Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
Compensation and Benefits:
In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position is $20.38 - $27.18/hr. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
