Full Job Description
The Forensic Social Worker will provide training, consultation, and guidance to the Behavioral Assessment Consultation Team (BACT) on an as-needed basis. This position will review cases referred to BACT and provide both an expert opinion and recommendations regarding potential threats to individuals and/or to the Babson community writ large. Specifically responsible for providinginsight into mental status, behavioral concerns, and threat level based upon training and experience. In addition, responsibilities include providing training and consultation formembers of the team on a range of topics including, but not limited to, behavioral science research and analysis, policy and program development, interventions, and effective strategies to mitigate risk.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Serve as an ex officio member of the Behavioral Assessment Consultation Team (BACT).
  • Review case files and available information and conduct forensic analysis of materials to
  • guide BACT in making appropriate determinations regarding potential threats to the Babson
  • community.
  • Provide expert consultation regarding possible mental health status of individual(s) in
  • question.
  • Provide recommendations regarding appropriate course of action based upon available
  • information.
  • Operate within the limits of confidentiality in accordance with clinical licensure and College
  • policies.
  • Provide periodic training to members of BACT on mental health issues, behavioral analysis,
  • policy and program development.
  • Be reasonably available for consultation and threat assessment as needed.
  • May review/consult on cases involving litigation or legal ramifications.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

  • Ph.D./PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology, MSW, MA in counseling/clinical
  • psychology, or equivalent, with specialized training in forensic psychology; licensed by
  • the State of Massachusetts.
  • At least 10+ years of related counseling experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of ethical, legal, and clinical issues and standards as they
  • apply to higher education settings.
  • Must have knowledge of mental health principles, practices, and developmental issues as
  • they apply to young adults.
  • Must have demonstrated strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice, as well as
  • personal and professional integrity.
  • Must have experience providing brief counseling, providing risk assessment and crisis
  • response.
  • Must have strong verbal, writing and presentation skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and must be able to maintain a high
  • degree of confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; take
  • thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain
  • sought-after results.
  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and
  • utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.

  • May require occasional on-campus consultations/meetings.
