PURPOSE:
The Financial Planning & Analysis Consultant will play a critical role in the analysis and execution of a wide range of strategic initiatives across the organization. The role is part of the FP&A strategic finance team; supports leaders by reporting on and reviewing a business unit's performance; partners with business stakeholders to gather and vet business case assumptions and underlying rationale.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for contribution to the development and analytical review of quarterly planning and budgeting. Advises region/ business unit leaders on strategic fiscal matters to facilitate financial management throughout the organization. Participate in regular meetings with leadership to review financial results in their area and act as an internal consultant on interpreting financial results, analyzing variances and improving performance.
- Responsible to partner with and support divisional leader for divisional multi-year business plan development, support the development of value-based strategies and tools for re-engineering of financial processes including developing new performance metrics and profitability measurements while creating detailed driver-based financial models for new organic/inorganic business opportunities.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather and vet business case assumptions and underlying rationale. Develop financial models related to pricing including pricing calculators and cost models. Storyboard presentations and develop decks related to project outputs and other relevant topics for executive level presentation. Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and market research to support projects. Critically examine the opportunities, alternatives, project stages and financial investment in order to make a recommendation for the best course of action that will create business value.
- Informs strategic financial planning by performing and evaluating financial, utilization and benchmark analytics. Supports business-specific projects; supporting the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; ensuring team follows all procedures and policies; collaborating cross-functionally to make effective business decisions; escalating high priority issues and risks as appropriate; and recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 8 years experience in a finance or analytical role within the finance sector or quantitative analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA/MS, preferably in a quantitative and analytical discipline.
- Specific experience building Excel-based financial models.
- Understanding of healthcare marketplace dynamics and healthcare financial and operational reporting.

- Ability to manage long-term projects meeting deadlines and ensuring compliance.
- Ability to prepare ad-hoc analysis, experience studies and reports.
- Must demonstrate flexibility, innovation and problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
- Ability to express technical and financial analysis in a clear, concise manner on both written and oral form.
- Strong mathematical acumen with a solid understanding of financial and accounting principles.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to interface with senior leaders in the business.
- Proficient in Excel, VBA, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.g., SAS, Access).
- Good analytical skills, highly detail oriented and a thorough understanding of general economic theory as it relates to the lending and business environment.
- Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
Salary Range: $98,424 - $195,481
