Full Job Description

As a Field Service Technician on our Service team, you will be the primary interface with customers during installs and after projects are complete. As a member of this highly technical, dedicated team, you will ensure maximum up-time of equipment for our customers, while also identifying potential sales for aging equipment or where enhancements or modifications might be needed. This is no ordinary technical role; we manage a variety of systems including standard products and custom projects in life science, frictions stir welding, material handling, robotic, aerospace, environmental and other applications.
Success Criteria:
Your experience in troubleshooting, inspection, calibration, service and repairs of custom automated assembly, advanced manufacturing, and materials handling systems will help you hit the ground running. Your ability to evaluate and make recommendations for repairs and upgrades is just the beginning. In this role you will get to see those recommendations come to life by fully executing repairs, upgrades and commissioning equipment. When you’re not traveling to visit our customer sites, you’ll provide remote support troubleshoot, which is why communication skills are key to what you bring to this role.

We offer market competitive pay and benefits based upon the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Our starting rate of pay for this hourly position is targeted at $36.00 - $46.00 per hour and is eligible to receive overtime pay based on federal, state and local wage and hour laws.

* US Person
* High School diploma or equivalent
* 5-10 years of previous field service experience:
* Servo-hydraulic, closed loop systems and controls preferred.
* MTS brand products, Friction Stir Welders, controls highly desirable.
* Friction Stir Welding equipment and/or Friction Stir Welding process preferred.
* Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wire diagrams.
* Ability to work in environments that may require standing, walking, bending, crawling, and working at heights
* Computer skills to include MS Word and Excel
* Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI and CMAA codes or regulations (preferred)
* Travel averages up to 50-75% (may vary based on location, but will mostly be planned and scheduled well in advance)
* Valid Driver's License without restriction required
* Associate degree in Automation, Industrial Electricity, Electronic Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent vocation/technical training and experience (preferred)
