Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Provide engineering support to maintain the controls and information system and the Process Safety Management system. Create and implement new processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES -

  • Maintain the Ignition software.
  • Maintain the PLC program, database and Information Systems for production PLC's.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and instrument problems.
  • Design, test, troubleshoot, and oversee implementation of new processes. Design and install retrofits to existing systems.
  • Create and implement new strategies and new automation processes to improve process efficiency.
  • Maintain quality assurance on the control systems in manufacturing.
  • Maintain the controls for facility equipment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor of Science In Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Work Experience

  • At least 2 years experience with instrumentation & controls in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Position requires work on extended and /or "odd" or "on call" hours as business needs dictate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certification / Licensure -

  • Professional Engineering License.
  • EIT (Engineering in Training) completion.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, RSViewSE, Vantage Point, Historian, SQL.
