Founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a tuition-free private home and school for 2,200 pre-K through 12th grade students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Since its’ founding, the lives of almost 12,000 children have had lives transformed through high-quality career-focused education and a positive, nurturing home life. And the school is growing to serve more students.
MHS is seeking dynamic and adaptable Elementary School Teacher to provide high quality classroom coverage for short-term and long-term absences within the Elementary School to ensure continuity of learning and ensure continued academic rigor. This position also sometimes co-teach or covers supplementary scholastic needs.
MHS Teachers are deeply committed to remediating students to perform well which requires extensive cross-functional collaboration with a whole child approach to student development. They are required to schedule and complete additional duties to their teaching schedules. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
- Teacher certification in Elementary Education required. Certifications in Reading or Special Education preferred.
- Experience teaching using a literacy rich approach, with demonstrated success in differentiating instruction for successful student outcomes.
- Exceptional skills in building student relationships & classroom management required.
- Demonstrated success as a high performing multi-disciplinary team member.
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills are required.
- Coaching or other extra-curricular experience desired. Candidates must be “all in” and eager to engage with students beyond the classroom and school day.
- Candidates much demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are considered role models for students.
