A Day in the Life:
Electro Mechanical Technician will perform perform routine maintenance and repair for various packaging and refrigeration equipment. Supports the Maintenance Team to provide coverage per the schedule provided by the Maintenance Manager.
Position Details:
- Position works night shift 10:30pm-6:30am
- Must be willing to work overtime and varied schedules as needed by operations
- Salary Range $30 - $40 per hour. This role is also eligible to receive an annual incentive bonus.
What You'll Be Doing:
- All job duties require attention to safe operation and demonstration of safe work habits and behaviors. This includes the use of appropriate personal protective equipment for the job task.
- All duties include general area housekeeping responsibilities.
- Reads and interprets drawings and layouts.
- Sets up and operates the equipment necessary to perform all functions of the craft.
- Installs, maintains, replaces, moves, aligns or removes equipment, machines and piping or any other production or maintenance devices.
- Installs and maintains insulation on equipment, piping, ducts and spouting.
- Makes repairs to and checks machines and equipment for correct operation.
- Performs electrical and mechanical operations necessary for the construction, installation, repair and operation of equipment and devices of the plant.
- Rebuilds, repairs, replaces damaged, defective, or worn parts.
- Does necessary carpentry and concrete work.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area and removes material and equipment from job site. Assists in overall plant cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Operates Maintenance Shop tools including but not limited to drills, saws, grinders, welders, plasma cutter, oxyacetylene torch, etc.
- Tests and repairs electrical circuits, components, or systems
- Cuts, threads, and fits pipes.
- Works at all areas of the plant including, indoors, outdoors, confined spaces, andworking at heights with the proper PPE
- Complete any and all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
- Operation of packaging equipment
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Industrial Mechanical experience required (Food Manufacturing industry preferred).
- Basic PC/Laptop hardware & software knowledge and experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand SOP's, prints and manuals required
- Good organizational and communication skills required
- Experience as welder. Able to weld stainless and regular steel.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment required
- Able to drive a fork truck safely preferred
- Must be able to proficiently read and write in English for the purposes of record keeping and safety training and processes.
- Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment required
Preferred Qualifications:
- LOTO training and experience required
- Electrician Training and certification (Ark flash/High voltage).
- Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
