Electrician IIThis is a full-time, 12 month, AFSCME position.
TOUR OF DUTY: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
DAYS OFF: Saturday and Sunday
LOCATION: Campus Wide
This is an essential position.
Electrical repairs and PM inside and outside. Test, repair, install and/or maintain various types of electrical equipment. Performs related duties as required. Writes & reviews technical specifications for equipment and project by college and outside contractors. Participates in on-call rotation and detail.
This is an AFSCME position and subject to the terms of that union agreement.
Essential Duties
Maintains, repairs, installs, and troubleshoots equipment.Schedules, assigns and supervisors personnel and the work performed by external vendors/contractors.
Determines training needs and provides and/or arranges for such training.
May write specification for and estimate the costs of repairs, remodeling or alterations.
Acts as a liaison to University staff, external personnel vendors and contractors engaged in activities related to building.
Performs related duties such as requisitioning supplies and equipment.
Maintains paper and electronic records and prepares reports.
Processes all time and attendance paper and electronic records.
Demonstrates working knowledge of control systems.
Maintains inventory levels.
Demonstrates working knowledge of electronic work order system and PM systems.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Applicant must have at least one year of full-time experience as a licensed journeyman or master electrician.Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of supervision.
Must possess a current and valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
Must possess a current and valid Massachusetts Journeyman or Master's Electrician License.
Knowledge of safety practices and precautions observed in the electrical trade.
Knowledge of the types and uses of equipment used in electrical work.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Skill in instrumentation used in electrical work.
Ability to supervise, including planning and assigning work according to the nature of the job to be accomplished, the capabilities of subordinates and available resources; controlling work through periodic reviews and/or evaluations; determining subordinates' training needs and providing or arranging for such training;
*Motivating subordinates to work effectively; determining the need for disciplinary action and either recommending or initiating disciplinary action.
