Our Youth Outpatient Counseling team is looking to add a Counseling Support Specialist who will work with Early Childhood clients. The Counseling Support Specialist offers mental health support services for individuals within the home, community, or office setting to monitor and/or alleviate client mental health symptoms. With a trauma informed lens, this provider will engage as a member of collaborative team to offer clients psychoeducation and behavioral interventions. The provider will also be able to recognize when a client is in crisis and calmly and immediately connect to Crossroads Health’s crisis services.
More specifically, the primary responsibilities include:
- The Counseling Support Specialist will be responsible for developing a treatment plan together with the client.
- Work with clients to build skills in social interacting and behavioral management as well as others.
- Provide some case management duties such as helping clients connect to local resources.
- Work along side and support Counselors and Intensive Home Based team.
Position requirements include:
- Bachelors acceptable with 3 years of experience. Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work preferred
- LSW or LPC licensure preferred. LISW or LPCC a plus.
- Certificate in child mental health is required and will be employer provided.
- Knowledgeable about child development with a focus on social-emotional skills
- Experienced in community organizing and/or team building.
- Able to participate 2 evenings a week when needed
