TheDuke Department of Pediatricsinvites applications for a full-time faculty position within theDivision ofPediatric Hematology/Oncology. Ideal candidates will have a clinical and research interest in leukemia, lymphoma, vascular anomalies, or other areas of pediatric oncology. Candidates must hold an MD or MD/PhD degree and be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics.The main emphasis of this position will be to provide clinical care within the clinic and inpatient areas, with opportunities also available for clinical/translational research and medical education.
The selected candidate will join the Division of Hematology/Oncology, which includes 11 faculty members who lead a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare providers involved in both clinical care and research activities. The comprehensive clinics provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population with a variety of oncologic and hematologic disorders. Our mission is to provide excellence in clinical care and patient safety, to facilitate growth and advancement in the areas of training and education, and to pursue research within the field of pediatric hematology/oncology. Our division is consistently ranked within the top 30 pediatric hematology/oncology centers in the US. While the main clinical focus of this position is oncology, the candidate will also provide clinical care for hematology and vascular anomaly patients in a more limited capacity. Opportunities for research collaborations within the division, and with other pediatric and adult divisions both within the institution and externally are available and strongly encouraged. For example, theDuke Cancer Institute, which is a NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center that includes eight basic, clinical, and translational research programs, provides a fertile environment for collaboration and clinical translation of research.
