Full Job Description

This position will perform high quality residential mortgage origination by providing lending opportunities to homebuyers with an emphasis on underserved markets. The DPA loan originator manages the full cycle of lending from in-take through approval and closing and is responsible for file documentation, file record management and maintenance, monitoring compliance and accurate reporting.  

Please note: Based on grant funding this position is anticipated to last 2-years.

Required Qualifications

Education, credentials, and experience:

  • NMLS license required; or ability to obtain within first 90 days
  • At least 3 years of mortgage origination experience

  • Preferred mortgage down payment assistance origination experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Adaptability: Readily considers new approaches and adapts quickly to change.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures information is complete and accurate and follows up to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled.
  • Initiative: Identifies opportunities and issues, and proactively acts and follows through on work activities to capitalize or resolve them. 
  • Mortgage Lending: Provides borrowers with access to financing for real estate transactions while managing risk and ensuring compliance with lending regulations.
  • Process Management: Implements effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvements. 
  • Utilizing Software: Demonstrates proficiency with enterprise solutions such as Client Relationship Management, Project Management, General Ledger systems or Design software
