Full Job Description

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Document Review Attorney. This position manages the collection, review, culling, and transfer of data outside of the firm in response to requests from clients, subpoenas, and/or other requests for production in accordance with the relevant rules of professional conduct and the firm's polices. The Document Review Attorney also manages the collection and review of data for internal matters and assists the Assistant Counsel to the firm as requested.

This position will reside in the Philadelphia office and a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule is available.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with firm and regional IT departments to manage the extraction of electronic documents from the firm document management system and email from Outlook.

  • Conducts quality control of documents and email approved for transfer. Manage the document culling process with firm IT. Coordinate the final transfer of files/documents with regional records departments. Maintain records of current and completed requests.

  • Communicates with departed attorneys and/or transfer recipients regarding questions pertaining to transferred data.

  • Communicates with all necessary parties to facilitate efficient transfer of materials.

  • Develops procedures with firm IT and other departments to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the extraction and culling process.

  • Reviews and culls electronic documents and email.

  • Seeks opportunities to improve Department efficiency and reduce expenses by streamlining operations.

Experience/Qualifications:

This job requires:

  • A Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the legal field, preferably including prior document review experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Valid Attorney’s License from any state. Recommended but not required: Pennsylvania Attorney’s License.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Planning and organizational skills.

  • The ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft programs (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), especially Microsoft Excel.

  • Document management system experience (iManage).

  • Document review platform experience (Relativity or Axcelerate).

  • Other programs: PowerPDF/Adobe Reader, Visio.
