Full Job Description

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a District Service Manager to join our YGC team in a field position in Kennesaw, GA. The District Service Manager (Connected Products) provides customer and technical support to the market, maintaining product and business relationships. They will receive incoming phone calls for trouble shooting, training and set up, and travel to the market for fleet product set up and issue resolution.  They will assist with warranty processing as needed and maintain incoming field product.  Work with Research & Development / Product Development department on issue resolution, product communication and training.  Manage tracking, billing, and reporting of issues with management and vendors.  Monitor course issues remotely to assist and improve in field functionality, reporting problems as they arise using correct communication tools and channels.

What you'll be doing:

  • Promptly and professionally respond to service calls from in market customers, providing remote and in person service and customer support following proper on-site rules and etiquette supporting customer service and revenue goals.  
  • Complete all service documentation to include call reports and service requests.  Effectively report (verbal and written) progress and recommendations to management and affected parties (Service, R&D, Sales, Vendor and Customer).
  • Efficiently and accurately process claims, orders, receive and ship products as necessary.    
  • Provide demonstrations, training, and assistance to in market customers and Yamaha sales and service personnel staff in product installation, usage and technical service techniques required to manage connected products.   
  • Travel as needed in the market via flight or vehicle to assist with new product set up and troubleshooting. Safely operate company vehicles and follow all company policies pertaining to their use and maintenance of the vehicles.
  • Maintain work areas, inventory, and storage areas in a safe, clean and orderly manner at all times.
  • Assist the connected services sales manager, new and used car sales departments as assigned in managing connected services requirements.
  • Attend and support events, company activities & assist other field sales and service territories as required.

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude & 5+ years of engine and vehicle repair experience required with dealership experience a plus.
  • Formal technical training in the repair of power sports product a plus.
  • Ability to travel 50% visiting accounts to perform duties, working extended hours as required.
  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S Passport for international travel as needed
  • Must be able to obtain a company issued or personal credit card for use in travel-related expenses.
