Position Overview:
The Director of Managed Services will play a critical role in driving the business strategy and execution for global Managed Services offerings. The role is responsible for the delivery of managed service engagements, creating and enhancing service lines, and generating continuous revenue streams. Reporting to the Vice President of Managed Services, this individual will work across business development, solution engineering, professional services, and implementation to ensure successful service delivery and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities & Competencies:
- Business Development: Work closely with sales and account management teams to identify new business opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and grow client relationships within the managed services space.
- Service Line Creation: Innovate and expand Managed Services offerings by creating new service lines and enhancing existing services to meet market demands.
- Solution Engineering: Lead and support the design of customized, scalable, and efficient solutions for clients, ensuring alignment with their specific business needs.
- Project Management: Oversee the successful execution of managed service engagements from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet contractual obligations.
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic oversight, managing service delivery expectations, and addressing any escalations to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of service delivery professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Ensure the team adheres to best practices in service delivery and operational excellence.
- Consulting & Professional Services: Collaborate with professional services teams to integrate consulting expertise into managed service solutions, ensuring clients receive comprehensive support across their technology landscape.
- Financial & Performance Management: Manage budgets, costs, and pricing strategies for managed services. Track and optimize performance metrics to ensure efficiency, profitability, and service quality.
- Implementation Support: Partner with implementation teams to ensure smooth transition of new services, ensuring that solutions are effectively deployed, integrated, and supported post-implementation.
- Process Improvement: Champion standardized processes and methodologies to drive efficiency and improve the overall quality of service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-10 years of relevant experience in managed services, IT infrastructure management, business development, or solution engineering.
- Proven experience in leading complex service delivery engagements, preferably in a global enterprise setting.
- Strong business development acumen with a track record of identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
- Hands-on experience with solution engineering, including the design and customization of service offerings to meet client needs.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with experience leading high-performance, client-facing teams.
- Strong financial and operational management skills, including budget management, cost control, and performance tracking.
- Excellent client management and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and navigate complex client organizations.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and execute projects with minimal oversight.
