Position Purpose:
The I&T Portfolio Manager Director role is to partner with the I&T Business Partners to execute the Book of Work for R&D and Tech Office including portfolio investments, BAU activity, I&T support activities for the business, demand items, OKRs and KPIs management and tracking, financial insights and resource capacity and demand planning. This role is a leadership role to help augment digital first mindset to ultimately drive us to a more data-driven organization.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Deliver the book of work for R&D and Tech Office portfolios on time, budget and within scope to ensure committed outcomes are achieved.
- Recruit, hire and train project managers and scrum masters for daily execution of the investments ensuring optimal delivery methodologies within CSL’s prescribed frameworks using a pragmatic approach coupled with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Partner with Business Partner Leadership Team, Finance Partner team and Portfolio Governance team to provide insight into all financials, costs, purchases, and Business Cases.
- Partner with Enterprise Architects and Domain Architects to ensure architectural standards and guidelines are considered in RFPs and Business Cases prior to Solution Architecture determined to minimize tech debt while ensuring our technology solutions are in alignment with our 3 – 5 year corporate and I&T strategies.
- Provide resource management capacity and demand insights to help drive the organization to work on the highest priorities for the company as determined by executive leadership
- Drive the organization to a more data driven mindset achieving a reputation for ensuring what we do is measurable, of high value, and consistently leveraging systems of record for storing clean, high quality data that enables strong and robust reports for providing transparency, process improvements, and ultimately predictive capabilities to proactively manage the book of work
- Build a cohesive, empowered, high performing team of project managers and scrum masters who continuously earn a reputation for delivery excellence and consistently raise the bar for expectations.
Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required with preferred focus in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or commensurate experience
- Portfolio Management: 10 + years’ experience in I&T project management, product management or other I&T delivery roles, working in agile and waterfall environments with proven record of delivering to commitments of timeline, scope, funding and outcomes
- Execution: Strong track record of building the processes and frameworks that enable and ensure teams deliver to their commitments on timelines, scope, funding and with a strong emphasis on outcomes
- People and Team Leadership: Significant prior experience in people management and development, team building, leadership and management working in highly matrix organizations
- Budget/Financial Management: Demonstrated ability to manage financials for projects and organizations, track ongoing costs and collaborate across finance partners, portfolio governance and business partners.
- Data Analytics / Business Intelligence: Deep experience leveraging data to perform data analytics and business intelligence that enables management of large portfolios of projects and programs at scale
- Process Excellence: Ability to identify continuous process improvement opportunities and resulting gains
- Risk Management: Significant experience identifying potential risks to achieving our commitments with a focus on mitigation approaches to prevent issues from occurring
- Resource Management: Experience with defining a resource management process to provide transparency into supply and demand of resources across an organization
- Expert I&T Project, Program, Portfolio Methodologies: Deep experience performing PM roles in I&T projects with progressing responsibilities throughout your career
- Ability to influence across a matrix environment: Demonstrated expertise in the ability to influence others through logical, goals-focused discussions to enable team to deliver to commitments
- Strong collaboration skills: Demonstrate the ability to provide a safe environment with stated, clear shared goals for the team, and then empower the team to deliver with clear support and enablement from you
- Team-oriented servant leader: Strong understanding that the team should always be greater than the sum of its parts, and has shown the ability to build, develop and improve team productivity
- Engaged, energized and motivated thought-leader: The ability to think beyond “what is” to “what can be” and then lead a team through that change to realize “what can be”
