Job Title: Data Scientist with Graph Database experience
Location:100% Remote
Client Type: Financial Services
Duration: 1 year - Contract to hire
Rate: $45-65/hr. (based on experience)
Job Description:
Our client has a specialized need for a Data/Decision Scientist with prior Graph Database experience. The Data Scientist will join the Data Science Delivery group that specializes in identifying fraud and loss within the corporation. The team has a large inventory of internal and vendor models which require ongoing testing, maintenance, and documentation updates to meet model risk regulations and corporate compliance.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders and business partners throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging enterprise data to drive business solutions.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
- Integration of data elements from disparate systems to uncover insights.
- Independently converts business management questions and into analyzable problems and provide solutions.
- Clean, preprocess and transform raw data into structured format suitable for analysis and machine learning models.
- Design, implement and evaluate advanced statistical models to solve wide array of challenging problems.
- Ensure selected algorithms/modeling techniques are appropriate and aligned with desired project outcome.
- Anticipates potential issues that could limit projects success or implementation and escalates as needed.
- Build machine learning models for various problems inclusive of regression, classification, clustering, pattern analysis, forecasting and simulations.
- Translate complex analytical and technical concepts to non-technical audience to enable understanding and drive informed business decisions.
Must have skills/technologies:
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Information Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in data/decision science
- Graph database experience
- Data modeling, data analytics, and machine learning
- SQL, Python, Snowflake, Tableau, Databricks etc.
- Understanding of digital channel technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript), information architecture and wire framing
Nice to haves' skills/technologies:
- Banking/fraud background
- Knowledge of Confluence and Jira
- Knowledge of Agile technical software delivery methodologies
- Knowledge and demonstrated use of process engineering methodologies
- Familiar with concepts related to human centered design or high-tech anthropology
- Experience in design research activities including planning, moderation, analysis and synthesis, and communication of findings
