Summary

This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer. As a Contract Specialist, you will serve as a senior level contract specialist for major acquisitions supporting a branch within the BEP's Office of the Chief Procurement Officer.

Duties

As a Contract Specialist, you will:

- Serve as a senior level contract specialist for major acquisitions supporting a branch within the BEP's Office of the Chief Procurement Officer.
- Handle complex, sophisticated and sensitive acquisitions, requiring an in-depth knowledge of contracting rules, regulations and procedures.
- Represent the organization in negotiations with leaders, both within and outside the Department of Treasury and Government in general and interact with representatives at the highest levels.
- Perform the full range of pre-award and post-award acquisition activities.
- Work jointly with a multitude of personnel (e.g. Program, Office of Financial Management, Office of General Counsel, etc.) and provide expert leadership to the Acquisition Team.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-13: For the GS-13 you must have at least 1 year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform in this position. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Planning, organizing, and carrying out all phases of an acquisition related to the procurement of supplies and services in support of an operational mission. AND
- Executing contractual agreements. AND
- Purchasing or administering services in accordance with procurement laws, regulations and processes. AND
- Planning and conducting negations.

GS-13 Selective Factor: Employment is contingent upon one's ability to maintain an active FAC-C Level II, FAC-C (Professional), or DAWIA (Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act) certification. If selected, you will be required to submit a copy of your active FAC-C Level II, FAC-C (Professional), or DAWIA (Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act) certification.
