Position Description
The RTP Bio Quality Assurance Co-Op is responsible for contributing to key tactical and operational activities within Quality Assurance at the Biogen Research Triangle Park (RTP) facility on an 8:00am-4:30pm M-F shift. The RTP Bio Quality Assurance Co-Op's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work Order Management, Standard Work Planning and Metric reporting.
Projects include:
- Work with QA Operations personnel to define the content, sequence, and timing for various quality standard work activities in order to measure and continuously improve work activities. Activities will give insight into the quality operations activities of a biopharmaceutical operation.
- Support streamlining/ reduction of the work order processes and improve completion timelines. Identify key work order activities and drivers and identification of barriers/ hindrances to timely completion. Work with quality engineering and site engineering departments to define continuous improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and analyze metrics to ensure Quality departmental goals are attained. Support the Quality Assurance team with assessment of Quality metric data for continuous improvement opportunities. Escalate to Quality Management any departures from departmental goals.
- Other projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to lead and deliver results in an interactive matrixed environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills, relationship building, and leadership skills
- Experience with general office software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college or university
Education
- Actively completing a bachelor's degree (preferably in a science field) and have completed at least their first year of undergraduate degree. This is not available to anyone that has already completed their undergraduate degree.
