Full Job Description

Location: Unifour Family Practice

Position: Certified Medical Assistant


Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our family practice. In this position you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare providers with clinical and administrative tasks. If you are detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and are committed to delivering exceptional patient service, we encourage you to apply. This is a fast-paced environment.  Prior acute care setting experience preferred. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight, etc.).
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the physician.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic lab tests.
  • Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic tests.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using our electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from a recognized certifying organization (e.g., AAMA, AMT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience working in a family practice or similar healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with medical software and technology.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 36 per week
