We are seeking a skilled Job Coach to support young adults ages 18 - 24 as they work to enhance their strengths, develop work-related hard and soft skills, define their ambitions, and pursue their goals. Our job coaches will work with our young adult Fellows to map out their employment and career plans, encourage them as they grow in strength and capability, and support them as they identify and work to overcome any obstacles. The role also involves liaising with employers and mentors, documenting progress, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
Our Job Coaches need to possess a genuine passion and proven track record for supporting young adults from a diversity of backgrounds and life experiences. It is essential that our job coaches understand asset-based approaches and language and believe in the strengths and assets of the communities we serve.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with CareerLabs’ participants to identify areas of career interest for further exploration
- Assess individual needs and support participants in the formulation of actionable development plans
- Assist participants in discovering their unique motivations and help them integrate these into their plans and experiences
- Develop personalized and effective job coaching plans
- Empower and support participants as they take the lead in the development of their career plans and pathways
- Assist in the identification of obstacles and the development of strategies to overcome challenges
- Provide regular guidance and coaching to both participants, employers, and partners during job exposure experiences
- Work with employers to promote inclusive practices
- Communicate clearly with co-workers, partners, funders and program participants regarding CareerLabs’ activities
- Facilitate engaging group discussions
- Monitor and evaluate program components
- Organize and participate in events, conferences, panels, and workshops
- Participate in professional development and training activities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation and prepare relevant reports.

- College degree required
- Working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel
