BUYER ASSOCIATE JOB AVAILABLE IN NEWPORT NEWS, VA
Volt is immediately hiring for Buyer Associate in Newport News, VA
As a Buyer Associate you will be:
- Contact vendors, place orders, verify supplies, manage supply requisition and communicate with suppliers to determine expected delivery dates and inform Project Managers of potential delays.
- Assist Buyer with placement, adjustments, and cancellations of purchase orders.
- Cancels or expedites orders as necessary to deliver service targets.
- Utilizes planning software to build optimal containers and/or truckload orders to suppliers.
- Designs, implements, and actions alerts that identify exceptional issues impacting service and/or inventory.
- Monitors rebalancing of assigned inventory to ensure excess inventory is optimized.
This is a Full-time Contract opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Advanced skills in Excel (pivots, lookups) preferred.
- Experience working in supply chain planning software a plus.
Pay Rate: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
