Full Job Description
Role Overview:
Managing supply flow is a science. Managing supply flow for Engineers is an art form. PAR Systems, a world leader in engineering intelligent solutions is growing its Supply Chain team. Our focus on technology, quality, and new ideas extends beyond our products as we look to add diverse, dynamic, and dedicated people to our company.
As a data driven decision maker, the Buyer is responsible for making sure materials are available to keep production flowing. Ensuring the smooth and timely processing of purchase orders is key, along with maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support initiatives aimed at optimizing the supply chain efficiencies will be important for success. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the work you do will support savings and efficiency across our entire organization.

Your problem solving capabilities will come in handy as you navigate purchasing for materials, supplies, equipment, and services. Preventing emergency stops is a must, so having the ability to build trust and credibility with our engineers and vendors is mission critical.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics or related field.
* 1-3 years' experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing (internships or entry-level experience considered.)
Preferred Skills:
* Excel Skills: Knowledge of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros and other Excel functions for analyzing and visualizing data
* ERP System: Hands-on experience with ERP systems in a Supply Chain environment
* Understanding of basic statistical methods for data analysis and forecasting
* Exposure to negotiation strategies including through internships, coursework, or practical experience
* Basic understanding of inventory control and demand planning concepts
* Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly identify problems and propose practical solutions in a supply chain context
* Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
* Experience working in a team environment, demonstrating the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with departments like materials & logistics, project management
* Ability and willingness to select the best means of communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders for proactive execution of responsibilities
