Associate Scientist - Cell Biology (Chemical Biology), Cambridge MA

The Chemical Biology, Quantitative Biosciences group within our Company's Research Labs in Cambridge, MA, is seeking an Associate Scientist with a strong foundation in scientific principles and a passion for research to support our mission to understand novel biology and identify new therapeutic targets. In this role, you will contribute to cutting-edge research that advances our understanding of target biology and mechanisms of action. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and a diverse network of experts in pharmacology, assay automation, genomics, data science, and disease area biology to facilitate the development of the next generation of therapeutics.

The successful candidate will:

• Join a creative and flexible team, fostering collaboration with other scientists.

• Contribute to experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results.

• Work alongside Oncology, Metabolic Disease, Neuroscience, and Infectious Disease discovery teams to execute phenotypic assays, target identification/validation, and to develop chemical biology-based platforms.

• Communicate effectively in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment to ensure productive collaboration.

Qualifications / Education

• A BS degree in Pharmacology, Biology, or a related discipline, with relevant coursework and laboratory experience.

Required:

• Foundational knowledge of standard molecular biology and cell biology techniques (e.g. cell culture, PCR, and western blots) as gained through undergraduate coursework.

• Familiarity with basic data analysis tools (such as Excel, Graphpad, etc.) to interpret experimental results.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills (both oral and written).

• A demonstrated enthusiasm for scientific research and a strong desire to learn and grow within the field.

Preferred:

• A background in biology, pharmacology or related sciences

• A solid grasp of biological concepts acquired through both coursework and/or practical experience.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, driving scientific progress through experimentation and collaboration.

• Practical laboratory research experience, including cell-based assay development

• An understanding of genetic and pharmacological perturbation in cellular models and their implications in research.
